Liszt sitting in front of the piano half open, his hands rest on his lap and his glasses hang from his neck. In the background a curtain, a column and a statue. On the left, the picture is inscribed: "Copyright 1886". On the right the name of the publisher: "Am. Bank Note Co. N.Y.”, at the bottom, in the middle, Liszts signature On the back of the picture Liszt’s letter to Chickering & Son from Rome can be read in English translation (a printed letter). At the bottom, postmark: “A.W.Brinkerhoff & Son, Upper Sandusky, Ohio".
