In the upper part of the white medal the portrait of the middle-aged Liszt can be seen in right profile. Inscribed on the reverse in the middle: “FRANZ LISZT 1811-1886”. On the rim the inscription running round: „Nationale Forschungs – und Gedenkstatten der klassischen Deutschen Literatur in Weimar.”
