The old Liszt wearing coat and cassock sits on an armchair. Lina Schmalhausen stands hext to him holding a letter in her hand. The photograph was mounted on the card of a Berlin photographer: "Atelier Victoria Paul Gericke W. Spichern Str. 7. zwischen Kaiser Allee und Nürnberger Platz." On the right hand side, Liszts autograph remark:"Wieder anders doch gleich gesinnt". On the verso of the card by unknown hand: "Budapest März 86" and the autograph dedication of Lina Schmalhausen: "Herrn A. von Somssich zur freundlichen Erinnerung Lina Schmalhausen".
