Dedication to Liszt: "A magas röptű Szellem és Zene-Király Liszt Ferencznek 1870. év Október 22én megünneplendő 60ik születés-napja emélkeül, mély tisztelettel ajánlva" [" Composed as a souvenir for the 60th birthday of the elevated spirit and musical king Ferencz Liszt, to be celebrated on 22nd October 1870, dedicated to him in deep reverence."] On the last, unnumbered page: a Hungarian poem, which (alternating with the well-known "Ave Maria") forms the text of the composition, originally composed for vocal ensemble and orchestra.
