No date.The writer was unexpectedly well received with Wagner’s works in France. Description of Wagner’s struggles and foundation of Bayreuth. (Liszt also mentioned.) Establishment of Wagner-Verein, works gaining ground in other cities, success of Parsifal. Decline after Wagner’s death: works performed near and far but standards not kept up. Except for München and Karlsruhe (dirigent: Mottl), distorted productions still gaining approval: Wagner has come into fashion. Promises to do everíthing possible in the interests of Wagner’s works.
