"Deutsch sprach Liszt mit Schwierigkeit und ungarisch nur oberflächlich." Note by an unknown hand:"Das vorstehend gesagte ist unwahr. Liszt sprach ausgezeichnet deutsch, wie doch auch seine zahlreichen Briefe in tadellosem Deutsch zeigen. Hingegen konnte er ungarisch gar nicht."
